Harmonix revealed that Rock Band 3 launches October 26 with 83 songs and versions for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and even Nintendo DS. What's not clear is the full range of instrument bundles that may be available at launch or shortly after (game plus keyboard is promised at $130). But there are some pre-order offers now if you're just plunking down for the game and don't care about getting the new keyboard or fancy guitar and drums with it:
- Amazon.com: Exclusive in-game guitar and $10 credit with PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii versions of the game
- Gamestop: Three downloadable songs for PS3 or Xbox 360: "My Own Summer" by Deftones, "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads and "Blue Monday" by New Order (about a $6 value)
- Wal-Mart: $10 gift card with PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii versions
Once again Harmonix and EA show little regard for preserving the pocketbooks of early adopters of their games who want the latest and greatest instruments too. We'll be holding off until a decent bundle/offer surfaces with the game, keyboard and new guitar...
