Ubisoft revealed details of its Assassin's Creed II downloadable content for PS3 and Xbox 360, which fills in two DNA strands that are inaccessible in the retail release of the game.First up is the Battle of Forli in January with six missions for $4. You'll help your lady friend and historical figure Caterina Sforza and philosopher/writer Niccolo Machiavelli in defending her little dump of a city. Then, sometime in February, Bonfire of the Vanities will land and try hard to suck $5 more from your pocket by offering 10 more missions, a new maneuver called the spring jump, and a chance to cross swords with deranged monk Girolamo Savonarola.
Worth the $9? Almost certainly. It's among the more reasonably priced downloadable content, even if it feels a little like it was lifted from the game just to be sold separately. However, there's a hidden cost: Hard drive space. Expect each to be at least 1GB. Or you could wait for the (almost certainly) inevitable Game of the Year Edition sometime later in 2010...
