Xbox Live Marketplace - Mothership Zeta, Turtles Re-Shelled, Call of Duty and Call of Juarez map packs and Arkham Asylum demo

The big news for this week for Xbox 360 owners is the launch of Games on Demand (available now for those who received the dashboard preview, next week for everyone else).

It's worth noting that while downloadable games are a great convenience (no more waiting for stores to open or even leaving the house!), they do have a few gotchas. They are usually more expensive than used games, there's no resale value and the games are tied to the console you purchase it on for offline use (and your gamertag if you're able to get online). Plus you have to sacrifice hard drive space (nearly 6GB for Oblivion, which does NOT appear to be the fully loaded Game of the Year edition), so you may need to pay for bigger/more proprietary hard drives if you buy a lot of big games.

With all that in mind, here's what is new on Xbox Live Marketplace this week:

  • Arcade: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled ($10)
  • Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta ($10)
  • Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 ($10)
