We're giving away two prizes for one lucky winner. First up is Grand Theft Auto: The Classics Collection. This miniature boxset of PC games includes the original Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 and GTA2. If you've ever been curious how one of the most popular game series started out, here is your chance.
As a bonus, GrrlGotGame picked up an extra District 9 movie poster when she attended a screening this past week. (I had to stay home; no babysitter plus too many fire drills with work.) This movie, which is apparently FANTASTIC (ranks with Terminator 2 and Run Lola Run), has a gaming tie-in since director Neill Blomkamp was originally tapped to do the Halo movie that fell apart. This movie was conceived from that project's ashes.
Here's how to enter:
Simply post a comment on this page. Say whatever is on your mind as long as it's not an ad or profane. Be sure to read the Sweepstakes Rules to ensure you are eligible to win and don't get disqualified by double-posting or forgetting to provide an e-mail address.
You may also want to white list this domain; we've had several would-be winners lose out because they never responded to their prize notification! If you use TypeKey/TypePad, be sure your e-mail address will be shared. No e-mail address, no prize. (Don't worry, no one else will see it - and we'll only use it to contact you if you win.)
Note that unless you're an authenticated poster who has been active on the site and marked as trusted, your comment will NOT appear immediately. It will go into a queue for me to approve, which I'll do several times a day (except the first week, where comments may not be approved for a few days). Do NOT double-post. We'll extend the entry period for this until 5:01 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, August 27 to ensure you have plenty of time to enter and verify your entry was posted.
We also sometimes give away unannounced Instant Win prizes. Here are a few tips since this can happen at any time. (Though not in the next week. Maybe the one after that!) 1) Follow Gamewatcher on Twitter. Before we post the next Free Stuff Bonus - Instant Win, we'll give you a fair warning tweet. 2) Subscribe to our RSS feed and set it to check for updates frequently.
We continue to stock up on cool goodies for Free Stuff Friday - and we will keep doing so as long as there's enough response, even if we continue to lose money on this site. So tell your friends about this! Hey, if we get bigger, so will the prizes that YOU could win!
While you're at it, post comments wherever you see something interesting. Also, if you get a game code you don't need or have some other cool game-related prize you want to donate, we'd be very grateful (we pay for most of this stuff ourselves!).
Check back each Friday to see what's next.

You can also get GTA/GTA2 (legally) for free with Rockstar Classics:
http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/
Just requires for you to sign up with their mailing list. But it's always nice to have a physical copy of a game, hmm?
EDITOR: Yes, we even reported this way back in 2004! Thanks for reminding us, but we do hope people will want the fancy packaged copies of the game, the bonus London missions (not available online) and the cool District 9 poster!

That GTA pack looks nice. I know I'd rather have a real copy than a digital one. Still it's nice to know that everyone can play it even if they don't win. :)

sound like a great giveaway. Always wanted to try the old gta's but never got around to it. Kinda wondering the size of the poster though, i collect the smaller posters and have plastered my half baths walls with them. District 9 was amazing though and any gamer who say it had to have been like holy fuck he has a gravity gun when shit started to hit the fan.
Hope you have a good vacation and make time to go see that movie when youre back you wont be disappointed.

I don't get it. I saw District 9 and I thought it was trash. It just felt like it dropped the ball in every aspect... So, in it for the GTA games.

Personally, I would have closed out District 9 a little more. One of the best features is that is wasn't a franchise. Maybe it should stay what way. But still very solid, playing for the poster.

I decided District 9 was my favorite movie after I saw it, so I guess I'm in it for the movie poster. :D I'd say it's one of the grossest and goriest movies I've seen in a long time, but then again I don't usually watch too many movies. I wonder if there's going to be a District 10 movie?

I loved the original GTA and GTA 2 back in the day. I'd spend HOURS upon HOURS playing them with a friend of mine. We' just switch off every death and do more random mayhem. It was so great.
Another chance at these would be even more awesome.
