Free Stuff Friday - Prey Limited Collector's Edition with bonus

Prey metal case    Prey inside case
This week's giveaway is for the Xbox 360 first-person shooter fans who missed out on the sleeper Prey as well as any fans of the game who cheaped out and didn't get the version with the collectible pewter figures and art book. The game offers something for everyone: both single-player campaign and online multiplayer!

The prize pack includes the shiny metal case packaging with Tommy and Hunter figures, art book, game disc and manual all nestled inside. The only thing missing is the code for the downloadable soundtrack, and we'll make up for that with a rare mystery item that should appeal to online gamers in particular. Not saying what it is (unless someone guesses it) but if you weren't in the Xbox Live beta back in the days of the original Xbox, you probably don't have one.

Here's how to enter:

Simply post a comment on this page. Say whatever is on your mind as long as it's not an ad or profane. Be sure to read the Sweepstakes Rules to ensure you are eligible to win and don't get disqualified by double-posting or forgetting to provide an e-mail address.

You may also want to white list this domain; we've had several would-be winners lose out because they never responded to their prize notification! If you use TypeKey/TypePad, be sure your e-mail address will be shared. No e-mail address, no prize. (Don't worry, no one else will see it - and we'll only use it to contact you if you win.)

Note that unless you're an authenticated poster who has been active on the site and marked as trusted, your comment will NOT appear immediately. It will go into a queue for me to approve, which I'll do several times a day (except the first weekend, where comments may not be approved until sometime late on Sunday). Do NOT double-post. We'll extend the entry period for this until 5:01 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, July 30 to ensure you have plenty of time to enter and verify your entry was posted.

We also sometimes give away unannounced Instant Win prizes. Here are a few tips since this can happen at any time. (We haven't done one of these in awhile, so we're overdue!) 1) Follow Gamewatcher on Twitter. Before we post the next Free Stuff Bonus - Instant Win, we'll give you a fair warning tweet. 2) Subscribe to our RSS feed and set it to check for updates frequently.

We continue to stock up on cool goodies for Free Stuff Friday - and we will keep doing so as long as there's enough response, even if we continue to lose money on this site. So tell your friends about this! Hey, if we get bigger, so will the prizes that YOU could win!

While you're at it, post comments wherever you see something interesting. Also, if you get a game code you don't need or have some other cool game-related prize you want to donate, we'd be grateful (we pay for most of this stuff ourselves).

Check back each Friday to see what's next.

Prey was a great game, those figures look nice. It deserved to do better but I don't believe it had enough advertising and such to get major attention but either way this is a game that you can't go wrong with purchasing it.

2. Rob:

I heard this game is oretty good.It would be nice to try it out :P...gl to all!

3. Deadbodyman11:

Is it wrong that I would rather have the figures than the actual game? Either way, I'd love to win.

4. dwb6 :

saw this game alot but never got a chance to try it. I just really want to know what the mystery prize is :P

5. Bigandtasty:

Was looking at this at Amazon when it dropped to like $8 (though with $8 shipping yay)...hopefully this will remove the need to make a decision, heh

6. Mike:

I've watched my friend play through this game. Sadly it receives too much undeserved hate from the mainstream It's a great game and was ahead of it's time with mechanics such as spirit walking and the static portals where you can see everything perfectly on the other side and being able to shoot through them. Even though you really couldn't die in this game after a certain point I felt the no death system made it the kind of game where you could sit back and play the entire story and enjoy it and not waste time being frustrated because you died all the time and replacing the death scene with a mini game where you shoot spirits with your spirit bow was unique also. I've seen the 360 in Used game stores at a cheaper price than a game rental , Despite the online community for Prey being nigh non-existant on the Xbox360 , I don't know about the PC version since I never played the PC version, However you cannot go wrong by purchasing this game.

7. Alex Herring:

I really enjoyed the demo for this game when it originally came out. It would be nice to play the full game.

8. Jeff:

it is 6:40am, and I am getting ready for work. To be young again and have summer vacation. Heard good/bad things about the game more good than bad and never had a chance to pick it up. Lets hope that spinning wheel lands on me :-)

9. Sean R:

I've hear good things about Prey, but have never had the chance myself to play.

10. Bradley Bick:

I just played this game for the first time a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun.

I've been wanting to try this and I'm a sucker for collector's editions.

Prey seems like an interesting game but the mystery rare prize is a lot more intriguing to me.

14. Nick:

Played this game a long time ago and never finished it. It would be a good chance to finish if I win.

15. Janna Hall:

This is an awesome game! I was surprised that the game did not sell better. I suppose it is all about PR. A few of the guys in my gaming clan really got into it.

16. Dayna:

Looks like an awesome prize to win!

17. Joe:

Prey is an awesome game, as everything 2K has made this generation is. Bioshock, The Darkness, Prey... all great games. I actually give this credit over Portal, even though I really enjoyed going through both, for what it accomplishes. Awesome giveaway though and thanks!

18. Kyle:

I'm in for this.

19. Alan:

I've heard good things about the game - I'd definitely be interested in trying it out.

23. sdawg36 :

In for this week, never got around to playing this game, but heard some good things about it.

24. Charles Ritter:

Prey is one of the hardest games I played. I only rented it when it first came out but man it made me want to break my TV. I never finished it ebcause it took so long to advance through the single player.

25. Daniel:

Heard this was good. Might as well go for it.

26. Armando:

thanks for another great contest

27. Val:

I haven't played this game, but a couple of my friends said good things about it. I don't know why it's gotten such negative reviews and such from people.

28. Daniel:

always have to throw my hat in the ring when it comes to 360 games i missed out on.

29. Chris:

I've been considering buying this game from GS, but if I win it free, it'd be even sweeter, lol.

30. TheRobReport:

I always wanted to play the game Prey...maybe this is my shot?!?!

31. WormFOODx:

I rented this game and loved it, but never finished due to competing priorities. Now is my chance!

This game has always intrigued me. I'm in.

I've heard about this game and how it's underrated. Hopefully, I can give it a try soon.

34. Akari:

I've never played this game before, so I'd love a chance to try it out.

35. Kush:

I think Prey is one of the most underrated games of this generation. It featured a great SP campaign with a compelling story and the MP was fun when it actually worked. I think the game would have been a GOTY contender if the MP wasn't such a laggy mess most of the time.

36. Charles Winter:

I love this game!!!!

37. Dean Mass:

I missed this title at release & haven't had a chance to go back and give it a try. I checked out some gameplay footage via GameTrailers and it looks to be "really" fun and well made. I'm a big ID fan which I have played QUAKE 4 & Quake Wars on 360 and I loved those so I definitely need to pick this up especially before PREY 2 releases. Also, I'm big into collecting gaming figures so this prize would be a nice item for me to win(crosses fingers), a great FPS + toys, you can't beat that;)

38. Steven S.:

Would love to have something new to play until september.

39. Stephen Sharp:

Never got around to trying this game, would be cool to win.

40. David Powell:

Oh! Oh! Pick me! Pick me!

I almost got this in a Gamestop for $8 once, but I couldn't because I forgot to bring ID. :/ I'd love a chance to finally get to play this.

41. Ghostcri:

I've almost bought this game several times...maybe this is it?

42. JJ:

I never got in on this, would be a nice chance to get it. Money's tight. :-/

43. NastyPnus:

I heard bout this title but didn't get to try it out....Pick I pick I....... Nasty thanks you.

44. Matt:

Played the demo for Prey on PC awhile ago, but never picked up the game. Would love to give it a shot on the 360.

45. Flak:

46. g-man:

Needs more pudding.

Always wanted to play this game but never had the chance. Definitely in for this.

Good luck!

49. Joshua:

This is truly a great game, that never really got the attention it deserved. Hope they make the sequels they were planning.

50. Andrew:

Prey was an excellent game, but sadly was overlooked and that meant a small amount of users online. Another problem for the online portion of the game was actually what made the singleplayer kind of cool and that was the portals. Camping those portals was terrible.

Anyway even with those problems, anyone that gets the prize will be in for a great time.

the 20 minutes i played on the computer was pretty fun. would love to try it al

52. Jeff:

I never got to try the game, and I'm always up for some FPS fun.

53. NDK:

Nice prized...consider me entered.

54. sabanoo:

Sounds pretty good...

55. Darklighter:

Never played it, but looks interesting.

61. Benjamin Kraft:

Never had the chance to play this game, and the collector's edition sure would be the best way to play it, I bet. Just saw this on the CAG forums and had to enter :D

62. Maxx M.:

Very nice stuff.

63. sixxv0lt :

I was at my friend's house one day,

77. Elisabeth:

Love your game info, don't have to spend precious minutes wading thru muck to get the answer/info I need. And thank you for taking the time to do contests like these. Even when you don't win, they are fun to participate in! And even better when it's a FPS for a prize.

78. Gamewatcher :

Rolling my 77-sided die (via random.org). And the winner is... 57. Jon!

79. Gamewatcher :

The mystery item, by the way, is a rare Xbox Live headset case given to original beta testers, Surprised no one tried to guess!

80. Philip:

Always saw this game in shelves and I never had the time to try it out. Maybe I can if I'm lucky? =D

81. PandorasTmrw:

Maybe theres hope!

82. Z3RO 37:

Prey is such an underrated game. Why don't more people like games like Prey and Quake 4? Anyway, I thought this game was great! My favorite part was the organic weapons... totally trippy. Enter me to win! ;D
