Free Stuff Friday - Pick and Win: Halo Uprising or Mirror's Edge comic

Halo Uprising comicMirror's Edge comic
It's another Pick and Win, this time with comic books. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pick between the debut issues of Halo Uprising and Mirror's Edge.

Put another way, are you into MJOLNIR battle armor or emo chicks who jump high? No judgments, at least from me - I like 'em both.

Oh, and if music games are more your thing, next week you'll get the chance to show pride for your favorite franchise: Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Here's how to enter:

Simply post a comment on this page. Say whatever is on your mind as long as it's not an ad or profane - AND STATE WHICH PRIZE YOU ARE PLAYING FOR! Be sure to read the Sweepstakes Rules to ensure you are eligible to win and don't get disqualified by double-posting or forgetting to provide an e-mail address.

You may also want to white list my domain; I've had several would-be winners lose out because they never responded to their prize notification!

Note that unless you're an authenticated poster who has been active on the site and marked as trusted, your comment will NOT appear immediately. It will go into a queue for me to approve, which I'll do several times a day. Do NOT double-post. We'll extend the entry period for this until 5:01 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, March 5 to ensure you have plenty of time to enter and verify your entry was accepted.

We recently stocked up on some cool goodies for Free Stuff Friday - and will continue to do so as long as there's enough response, even if we continue to lose money on the site, so tell your friends about this! Hey, if we get bigger, so will the prizes that YOU could win! Check back each Friday to see what's next.

free stuff!!

halo for me please :)

2. Jared R:

These messages we leave are always so short. We never respond to each other, never comment on what someone said. We never even write more than just a few words. It'd be more fun if we said something more than "In for one!" Or "thanks." Maybe that's how it'll always be. An endless cycle of posts with no meaning. But that could be fore the best. Because less words is less bandwith, right? I don't know. I'm not some brain scientist. I'm a heart scientist! Still haven't gotten one to the moon yet. You see, they don't hold a lot of rocket fuel. I'm rambling now, aren't I?

Thank yous are in order! Thank you O' kind Watcher of Games! Without you the world would be drowned in the chaos of games that have gone unwatched. Without you... Without you there wouldn't be a contest to enter at all! So, thank you.

In for Mirror's Edge. I doubt either of them are very exciting, but I want to give Mirror's Edge a chance.

3. Ryan:

so yeah one day i was reading stuff.

going for MIRROR'S EDGE COMIC.

4. Wesley:

I played Mirror's Edge and really liked it, got 1250G yesterday, so

I'm in for Mirror's Edge comic.

5. Derrick Wicker:

YAy free comics, even though i just went to the comic shop yesterday

6. Arron:

I absolutely hate wearing wet clothes and the worst situation is wet socks and wet shoes. Needless to say, I was wearing wet socks and shoes yesterday after the rainstorm :(.

In for Mirror's Edge.

7. JaseDakota :

I'd like the Halo comic personally. Uprising was so abused by Marvel...how many times did we see a release date? Only to have it whisked away by delays...a short 4 comic series that was supposed to only take a few months has now gone well past a year...will we ever fully know what happened to the Chief between 2 and 3? Only time and Marvel can tell...I weep for halo comicy goodness...

But alas there is hope! Marvel has announced more Halo comic series' and promised they will be done more efficiently! So maybe they'll come out one every 6 months instead of every year and a half...>_> Bitter much? Yes, yes I am.

8. Curtis:

I certainly agree with Jared R - there needs to be a bit more real commenting, and I feel guilty for not responding to the news items more frequently.

Anyhow, I'd like to try for the Halo comic.

9. Mirpkered:

That was a very moving post Jared. I feel as though with everyones participation, we may one day reach the moon, but with what is purely up to the public. I personally would like to see a tower of sporks reach the moon but that won't happen at least until 2074.

I'm going for the Mirror's Edge comic.

Thanks

10. Cody B:

It's all about the Halo Uprising for me. :)

11. JT:

Hmm... space marines & aliens, or underdog revolutionaries rising up against the police state and its running-dog lackeys?

Mirror's Edge please!

You rock, GW.

12. Shadowkast:

Uhhhh what this guy said: "Thank yous are in order! Thank you O' kind Watcher of Games! Without you the world would be drowned in the chaos of games that have gone unwatched. Without you... Without you there wouldn't be a contest to enter at all! So, thank you.

In for Mirror's Edge."

13. Slim30:

This is probably gonna get alot of comments from people coming from halo.bungie.org, but I think this is pretty awesome, always wanted to read the Halo Uprising comic, so that is the one I am going for.

14. Flak:

Hmmmmmmmmm.

I could go for Halo Uprising.

15. floormat:

16. Dann:

17. deadbodyman11:

I agree tjat the posts should be more than just one or two lines. Unfortunently I don't have anything interesting to say.
In for the Halo comic.

18. juvo:

Emo chicks wearing battle armor?

Coin flip goes to Mirror's Edge.

19. 7raveler:

I want the last edition of Uprising to be so good so bad.
So I'm going with Halo.

20. Someone123:

I am more interested in the Halo Uprising one.

21. Steven S.:

Never really liked Mirrors Edge so ill have to go with Halo Wars for my choice.

22. Mike:

Ever since I read Halo: Fall of Reach I've been crazy over the fiction of Halo. I was a big fan of the game before then, but after I began submerging myself in the full fiction of Halo, I realized that the games were only a fraction of what Halo had to offer.

From what I've said above, you can probably assume that I would prefer Halo Uprising. The more stories, the better.

23. Joseph Cortez:

Back story is always good isn't it? Story is a great thing if done well.

24. razorace1 :

An unfortunate fact: Mirror’s edge made me nautious. I will take the Halo comic. Been neglecting games since my new job. Also, just nothing big on the radar I want. May have to go through gamefly lists to find some old gems I missed. Maybe Resident Evil 5 will change my tune.

25. Darklighter:

Halo comic if I win. :)

26. Donald:

Love Mirror's Edge, it's tied with COD4 for my favorite game ever.

I'm going for the Mirror's Edge one.

27. Ben:

Halo Uprising, please!

28. Daniel:

Going for the Halo Comic.

29. Larry Perlman:

I am playing for that young MIRRORS EDGE comic cause i have issues 1-3 of halo uprising, thanks for the chance bro.

30. Christopher Pyne:

Mirror's Edge is my new obsession! Finally I have a proper third-person platformer! (Obviously I'm playing for the Mirror's Edge comic!) Thanks!

31. Alex:

Halo comic! Haven't been able to read that and I really want to. >___>

32. FlashT3:

I'm seeing a lot of requests for the Mirror's Edge comic, so I'm going to have to choose Halo Uprising.

33. Vent:

In for the Halo comic.

34. Shawn:

I agree with Chris. Mirror's Edge is awesome! So I'd like the Mirror's Edge comic please.

35. HotShotX:

I'd be up for the Halo comic, thanks.

~HotShotX

36. Armando:

guess i'll go for the halo comic and good luck to everybody

37. Sara:

Harro!
I likes comics!
Halo pretty please :D

Thank you!

38. Dean D78:

Halo Uprising for the win Alex!

39. Daniel Crane:

The Halo comic for sure.
I really want to know what Bungie changed in Halo 3 that caused all the delays for the comic,

40. Gamewatcher :

First, the tallys. Halo stomped poor Faith, 23-13. A couple people didn't pick a comic, but it didn't matter because their numbers didn't come up.

And the winners are:

Halo Uprising: 13. Slim30
Mirror's Edge: 6. Arron

If that's you, check your e-mails for notifications. The next Free Stuff Friday will pit Guitar Hero fans vs. Rock Band devotees!
