Misery Loves Company - Electronic Gaming Monthly dead, 1UP gutted and sold

It was a dark day for gaming journalism. Ziff Davis' Electronic Gaming Monthly is shutting down after the next issue (just shy of its 20th anniversary in May) and 1UP was sold to Hearst's UGO Entertainment, which seems to have designs on the brand only since most of the 1UP talent pool was fired shortly after the announcement...
