Patch Your PS3 - v2.5 firmware adds automatic shutdown, Flash 9 and more

The PlayStation 3 has been updated to v2.5 with a number of new features:

  • Option for automatic shutdown once background downloading or installing completes, along with Power Save options to turn off console and controllers after a selected period of inactivity
  • Support for PS3 Bluetooth Headset with High-Quality (HQ) mode for voice chat in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (and ostensibly future titles)
  • Improved trophy comparison
  • Details on when friends last logged in
  • Video: Support for Flash 9, DivX Video On Demand registration, sequential playback of video files and scene search (breaks videos into one, two or five minute segments)
  • PlayStation Store now has a prominent Redeem Codes button for entering prepaid card codes
  • In-game screenshots for games that support it (though none do yet, and developers aren't obligated to adopt this feature)
Plus many other smaller tweaks...
