The new Rock Band patch that installs when you boot the game on Xbox 360 adds some important fixes and features:
- Export songs. From the Options menu, select Export. You'll be prompted to pay $5 to export 55 of the 58 songs (all except Enter Sandman, Paranoid and Run to the Hills. (For those not up to the math, that means 139 songs can be yours in Rock Band 2 not counting any downloaded tracks.)
- Adds support for Rock Band 2 downloadable content. You'll need this if you don't buy Rock Band 2 but want to download new songs after its Sept 15 release - including some of the newly announced albums: "The Colour and the Shape" by Foo Fighters (yes!), "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" by Red Hot Chili Peppers (double yes!), "Nothing's Shocking" by Jane's Addiction, "Texas Flood" by Stevie Ray Vaughn, "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" by Megadeth and a No Doubt "Best Of" collection
- Vocals fix for songs with "talking parts." If you had problems with these songs ("Sabotage" for instance), try them again after patching your game.
- Gold stars are easier/achievable. Apparently, all of those songs that weren't possible to "gold star" on Expert are now possible, and songs that were do-able are now a little easier.
- Even faster loading. The last patch sped up the load times if you have a lot of downloaded songs, and this makes it even faster.
