PlayStation Store - Quake Wars demo, track packs come out and PSP game prices go up

The big news this week at the PlayStation Store isn't what's new, but which old titles just got marked up. That's right, instead of discounting old inventory Sony is raising the price on these PSP games:
  • Ape Escape: On the Loose is $16 (+$6)
  • Gangs of London is now $23 (+$11)
  • Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee is $16 (+$5)
  • Kingdom of Paradise is $17 (+$6)
  • LocoRoco is $23 (+$1)
  • SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo is $16 (+$5)
  • Twisted Metal: Head-On is $16 (+$1)
  • WipeOut Pure is $16 (+$5)
The message here is that prices won't always drop, so if you don't buy new titles right away they may actually go up (like Rock Band discount tracks). Well, most of the time: The Con just dropped to $10, half its original price. If you are into what's new on the PlayStation Store, here's what you can find when your're not stuck watching hour-plus cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid 4:
  • Army of Two Veteran Map Pack (free)
  • Rock Band song “Girls Who Play Guitars” by Maximo Park ($2) and MTV2 Pack 01 ($3, or $1 per track) with “Moving to Seattle” by The Material, “A Clean Shot” by The Myriad and “Bullets & Guns” by Them Terribles
  • Guitar Hero III Isle of Wight Festival Track Pack ($6.25) with “I Predict a Riot” by Kaiser Chiefs, “Shoot the Runner” by Kasabian and “Problems (Live at Brixton)” by The Sex Pistols
  • PS1 on PS3/PSP: Syphon Filter 3 ($6)
  • Demo: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
  • Game Videos: Civilization Revolution, Fatal Inertia, FIFA Interactive World Cup 2008, Hail to the Chimp, Kung Fu Panda, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Resistance 2
  • Theme: Metal Gear Solid 4
  • Wallpaper: PixelJunk Monsters
  • Movie Trailers: Hancock
