1600th Post - BioShock for PC no longer requires activation

Give 2K Games some credit - they lived up to their promises and removed all activation restrictions from the PC version of BioShock. This means that as of today, you can install the game as much as you want anywhere you want without patching. The game still uses SecuROM for activation but, according to 2K's community manager (favorite job title of my career!), it no longer enforces limits on the number of installs or computers you can use. In a move that squeaks of PR without being cloying, 2K Elizabeth adds:

"As I promised that the activation limits would go away, I can promise that if we ever stop supporting BioShock... we will release a patch so that the game is still playable. I believe, as you seem to, that BioShock will be the kind of game we will want to revisit 5, 10, 15 or more years from now. I want my copy to be playable, just as you do, and so does 2K."
Whatever. Great. Thanks. Now can we all just go back to mainlining Eve and upgrading our plasmid slots in that funky little hole in the ocean we call Rapture while we wait for the best game of 2007 to be plundered onto the silver screen by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Carribbean)...
