Xbox Live Marketplace - Ikaruga, HD-DVD patch and loads of free marketing crap

If you're an Xbox 360 HD-DVD player owner, you might as well boot it up one more time to download the last auto-update, which promises improved compatibility with certain titles and some new, unspecified network functionality. Microsoft was short on specifics, but hey, it's free. Speaking of free, this week Marketplace is packed with lots of free promotional themes and pictures. If you like to download this stuff (as I do!), knock yourself out:
  • Arcade: Ikaruga ($10) and Poker Smash Puzzle Pack 1 and Environment Pack 1 ($1.25 each)
  • Rock Band tracks previously released as a Official Xbox Magazine exclusive ($1 each or $3 for the 3-pack) "Rock Rebellion" by Bang Camaro, "Shake" by Count Zero and "Sprode" by Freezepop
  • Demo: Sega Superstars Tennis
  • Game Videos: Crash Of The Titans, Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack, SBK 08 and Viking: Battle for Asgard
  • Themes: Frontlines: Fuel of War, Ikaruga, Bullet for my Valentine, Cradle of Filth, Disney, Dragon Force, HIM, Iron Maiden, Kings of Leon, Motorhead, Nickelback, Ramones, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Trivium ($1.88 each), plus Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, Ford Sync, Speed Racer and U.S. Air Force (all free)
  • Pictures: Call of Duty 4 (free; downloading enters you into contest), Ikaruga ($1.25 each), Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (free), Disney ($1.25 each), Ford Sync (free), McDonalds (free), Speed Racer (free) and U.S. Air Force (free)
