As Black Friday shopping comes to a close, it seems that only a lucky or devoted few who missed the PS3 and Wii launches have come away with consoles as both Sony and Nintendo attempted to resupply stores. In Seattle, one mid-sized GameStop only had 14 Wii systems today and no PS3s for those who waited all night in the cold for a promised new shipment. (No counts were provided in advance.) And the story is similar at other stores. PS3 devotees might as well hang it up - rumor has it there will only be about half the already low number of promised units, and the majority of systems sold seem destined for high markups on eBay. Nintendo assures it will do better for the Wii with 4 million due by year's end, but even those have been somewhat scarce to date and hardly up to demand...
