There's a free Phantasy Star Universe beta on Xbox 360, but there are a few catches. You need to download the nearly 1GB client software and then you can play only through Tuesday, Oct. 17. You must have a paid Xbox Live Gold account. And you may get blocked or booted from the game, which has very limited server capacity for the beta. Also, you might need to create your character more than once if the server boots you while on the creation screen. And the tutorial is pointless and the game may freeze.
